The quality and timeliness of data play an important role in a broad range of business areas and their respective sets of master data. However, the manual maintenance and verification of data is time-consuming and prone to error, and can thus potentially lead to incorrect decisions being made with far-reaching repercussions and disrupt business processes for a long time.
Processes in core business and master data are strongly connected. Only coordinated, they can ensure an increase in efficiency and a reduction in costs. The central provision of reliable master data is one of a company's central tasks.
Consequently the availability of a single point of truth for reliable master data in all its forms (e.g. financial master data, legal entity-related master data, supplier master data, material master data, customer master data, HR master data or any other data model) constitutes the basis of an optimal support for processes, business decisions and effective corporate group management and thus potential for appreciation value arises.
Legal Entity Management can also be extremely challenging. Corporate groups are subject to complex dynamics regarding their shareholding structure. With increasing corporate integration the economic and strategic importance of legal entity management is also growing. Another part of the challenge is to ensure compliance aspects by fulfilling legal requirements and in-house guidelines. Comprehensive reporting and analysis functions provide the necessary transparency in order to analyze the performance and value development of single subsidiaries based on detailed data.
