Let me tell you right up front: A hosting solution with zetVisions offers a number of advantages. But let's take a step back for those of you who have not yet become acquainted with zetVisions AMI:
The zetVisions AMI software is a browser-based solution for legal entity management. AMI stands for "Shareholding Management Information System". It is used by many corporations and the public sector, so far mainly as an on-premises solution. Our customers include, for example, the City of Frankfurt.
When implementing new software, sooner or later the question arises as to whether the software should be hosted on-premises or by a service provider. However, it is also possible to move to a hosting service provider at a later date.
Short and sweet: The solution
A GDPR-compliant data center in Germany commissioned by zetVisions provides hardware, storage space, data center capacity and a solid Internet connection. Two independent instances, test and production environments, are each created as VMs. Access for software users is via a secure site-to-site VPN connection.
The AMI Web Frontend (AMIWB) is usually used. If this requires a changeover from AMIPC to AMIWB, this also has the advantage that no PC desktop front end needs to be rolled out by your IT department for upgrades. Furthermore, there is no need for the Oracle client on the PC. Data migration is not necessary when switching from PC to WB.
Your advantages with hosting at zetVisions
zetVisions takes over the setup and support of all hardware and software components that are necessary for you to use zetVisions AMI, such as operating system, application server, quota calculation, database, etc. The technical administration of AMI remains with you (e.g. user administration, authorization profiles, etc.).
The provision of the database license and all administrative activities associated with the database are also carried out by zetVisions with the hosting solution.
This almost completely eliminates the need for you to make use of internal or external IT services for the operation of zetVisions AMI.
License and maintenance contracts remain unaffected by the switch to hosting.

- All IT infrastructure services, except for the one-off customer configuration and permanent provision of the site-to-site VPN, are provided by zetVisions at a competitive price.

Costs are incurred:
- For setting up the servers in the data center and the secure transfer of the database (one-off)
- For upgrades of zetVisions AMI itself (usually once a year or less)
- For upgrades from Oracle (rare)
- For the provision and support of the hosting infrastructure and the technical support of all software components in the data center (monthly fee)
